چکیده

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) was doped with the combination of several metal ions including platinum (Pt), chromium (Cr), vanadium (V), and nickel (Ni). The doped TiO2 materials were synthesized by standard sol-gel methods with the doping levels of 0.1 to 0.5 atom-%. The resulting materials were characterized by the X-ray diffraction (XRD), BET surface-area measurement, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). The visible-light photocatalytic activity of the co-doped samples was quantified by measuring the rate of the oxidation of iodide, the rate of degradation of methylene blue (MB), and the rate of oxidation of phenol in aqueous solutions at  > 400 nm. 0.3 atom-% Pt-Cr-TiO2 and 0.3 atom-% Cr-V-TiO2 showed the highest visible-light photocatalytic activity with respect to MB degradation and iodide oxidation, respectively. However, none of the co-doped TiO2 samples were found to have enhanced photocatalytic activity for phenol degradation when compared to their single-doped TiO2 counterparts.

Visible light photocatalytic activity of MWCNT/TiO2 using the degradation of methylene blue

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)-doped TiO2 thin films were synthesized by the dip-coating method. The obtained products were characterized by SEM, EDX, XRD, and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy. The XRD patterns showed the presence of anatase phase. Absorption spectrum of MWCNT-doped TiO2 revealed a red shift in the optical absorption edge due to carbon doping. The photocatalytic properties...

ZnFe2O4 nanoparticle: Synthesis and photocatalytic activity under UV-vis and visible light

In the present work, the ZnFe2O4 nanoparticle has been successfully synthesized. The obtained sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and its optical property was examined by UV-Vis spectrophotometer. FE-SEM revealed that the particle size of the ZnFe2O4 of about 47 nm was synthesized. The photocatalytic performance under UV-Vis and vi...
